Okay, it should say Christmas "Balls", but Sean put a lovely New Ywoker accent on it, and it stuck.
2 packages Hershey Nuggets Almond and Toffee Chocolates (12oz. each, 24oz. total), or any other favorite chocolate
1 medium size Cool Whip in French Vanilla, although you could use plain, lite or free, but it's christmas, so splurge!
1 box Vanilla Wafers, finely crushed. Any excuse I have to use a hammer and crush things, I like.
Melt chocolate over warm water, let cool.
Thaw Cool Whip just a bit and add cooled chocolate to it. Mix well.
Take spoonfuls of the mixture and drop it into the crushed Vanilla Wafers, rolling until shaped like a golf ball.
Put on parchment paper and let cool in the fridge for a couple of hours until firm.
Give to neighbors, or just enjoy it yourself.
This is a modified version of a recipe I found in Aunt Joan's Davis Ward Cookbook. Don't ask me how I ended up with her ward cookbook. Weird.

I would kill for a copy of the Davis ward cookbook. And I live in the Davis ward! The original publisher is now retired and RVing around the country, I think. So, if anyone is getting rid of theirs, please let me know. I'll pay shipping and fair market value :)
phoebe, if you are that desperate for it, you can have mine. if i ever need it, i'll know whom to call.
I wouldn't say desperate fro a copy, but if someone was Adiosing theirs, I would take it. Maybe I could find one at DI?
